It's Done!

I've finished my first sweater! After reknitting the sleeves who knows how many times, and redoing the neckband, it's done. This was alot of work, but worth it in the end. Beshara even wore it in public (pictures taken at Theresa's) so it can't be that bad.

In between sweater seams I started a new pair of socks. Unfortunately I choose a pattern that uses a little more yarn than I have in that color. No problem, just dye some more (this is part of my Kool-Aid dyed cashmere from the cashmere incident). Only issue, apparently I used the other blue Kool-Aid. Sigh.

One of my b-day gifts was a gift certificate to Commuknity. So below is the yarn I ended up getting. Yum, yum.

Birthday Socks & Christmas Blanket!

My mommy got me some yarn for my birthday and for Christmas. I decided to make stuff for me with it! Thus began an insane amount of knitting, but so it is. For my birthday she got me three skeins of Artyarns SuperMerino 110. This stuff is much fun to work with. I made two pairs of socks, one of which I've since given away. The pair I made for me is pictured below. As soon as I cast off I was wearing them and loving them!

For Christmas I got some yarn I've been coveting but had no purpose for. It is Cherry Tree Hill Jumbo Looop Mohair in the Serengeti colorway. I love this colorway! I'm seriously yearning for sock yarn in this colorway. The yarn is 202 yards per hank and I had two! Oh what to do? After much consultation it was decided that the seriously funny surgical tool looking needles needed to be used...

... to make a blanket. Blanket was made from the corner out. Since I had two balls it was easy, increase until first ball ran out, then decrease. Blanket is seen below modelled on our new couch and chair. Plus a bonus close up!
